Heidi Craig

Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, CLTA

Heidi Craig is jointly appointed between Woodsworth College and the Department of English at the University of Toronto, Scarborough. Her research and teaching focuses on Digital Humanities, Early Modern Literature, and Book History.  

Prior to arriving at the University of Toronto, Heidi was an Assistant Professor of English at Texas A&M University, and was the recipient of research fellowships from the Folger Shakespeare Library, Huntington Library, and Newberry Library.  

 She is the co-creator and co-editor of Early Modern Dramatic Paratexts and author of numerous articles and chapters on Shakespeare, early modern drama, bibliography, and digital pedagogy. Her first monograph, Theatre Closure and the Paradoxical Rise of English Renaissance Drama in the Civil Wars, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2023. She has started work on her second book, a transnational and transhistorical examination of rag pickers in textual culture.
