In mid-May, guests gathered at the future site of the new Woodsworth Academic Building to usher in an exciting era of improved spaces for teaching and learning.

The Digital Humanities faculty awarded the Woodsworth College — CDHI Undergraduate Digital Project and Research Award to a team of students working on the Learning from Dolls Project that explored artifacts from the María de Lourdes Orozco Cuautle Collection.

Woodsworth welcomed students from Kapapamahchakwew: Wandering Spirit School - an Indigenous-focused school located in the east end of Toronto - for games, a tour of the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, and visits to physics, ecology and earth sciences labs.

Fourth-year student, Jessie Schwalb, won second prize for her presentation at the 5^th Annual Tech Econference. Hosted by the Department of Economics, the conference celebrates the best in undergraduate economics research from the previous term.

Digital Humanities students in course DHU 436 - Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities: AI, Literature and Culture were recently visited by guest lecturer and author, Ai Jiang. Jiang is an award-winning author based in Toronto and a UofT grad. Jiang’s novelette, I am Ai, was one of the readings of the course this semester. 

Recent Woodsworth alumna, Keyi Fan, and current Woodsworth student, Wanying Yang, won the 2025 Undergraduate Awards of Excellence in Economics.

This year, our featured Giving Day fund is the Woodsworth College Expansion and Renovation fund. The New Academic Building project is underway, and, when completed, there will be many inviting spaces for studying and socializing that will tie our Woodsworth community closer together and enhance the experience for students and other members of the Woodsworth community.

Woodsworth College is pleased to announce that seven students have been awarded the University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) this year for their leadership and volunteerism.
