Welcome back Woodsworth!
We are officially well into the Fall semester. Students returned to campus at the beginning of September as they moved into residence and participated in Orientation. We welcomed 630 students to Woodsworth and U of T at the first fully in-person Orientation since 2019. This fall, Woodsworth has around 5,600 students registered.

The Orientation schedule was packed with events at Woodsworth and across campus. They provided a chance for students to meet and connect with their peers. Orientation Coordinators, Hannah Yin and Reco Xu, said, “…we can confidently say that [Orientation Week] was an overall success. One standout highlight for us was the Block Party, which took place on the first night of orientation. We extended invitations to other colleges' orientation programs, creating an atmosphere of unity and fun on Varsity Field. Carnival games, rock climbing, tricycle racing, and sponsor booths added to the festive spirit. The memories we created during O-week are truly invaluable, and we wouldn't trade the experience for anything else.”
Woodsworth College Students’ Association President, Soban Atique, says, “Seeing the excitement, enthusiasm, and engagement of the incoming students during orientation week serves as a reminder of why we do what we do. Orientation week was a huge success due to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the incredible team."

The Mille Rotman Shime Academic Bridging Program welcomed 60 new students this fall and an in-person orientation event was held for them on September 8. This included an academic orientation hosted by Bridging faculty and staff, followed by a reception in Kruger Hall. Guests and speakers at the reception included Principal Carol Chin, former Bridging students, and representatives from the Dean of Students Office, Accessibility Services, the Indigenous Students' Association, First Nations House, WCSA and APUS. The Academic Bridging Program will be running newly developed academic skill-building workshops for Bridging students throughout the fall.
As the students returned to campus, they energized campus with their excitement and ambition. We anticipate our students will work diligently toward their academic and personal goals throughout the semester and wish them the greatest of success!
