Beth A. Fischer received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Toronto and specializes in international security and the psychology of decision making. She is an associate professor, teaching stream, and the Woodsworth One Program coordinator at Woodsworth College.

Prof. Fischer has written extensively about President Reagan and the Cold War, and in 2002 she was awarded a Nobel Fellowship for her research. She is also the author of The Reagan Reversal: Foreign Policy and the End of the Cold War (University of Missouri Press, 1997), and has published several articles on conflict management, intelligence analysis, and the science of teaching and learning.

In her latest book, she demonstrates that "triumphalism is a series of falsehoods about President Reagan's intentions, his policies, and the impact of his administration had on the Soviet Union." To read more about the book, visit the University Press of Kentucky website.

Congratulations, Professor Fischer!
