I was 40 years old when I decided to go to university. I had to take the pre-university course in English to see if I had what it takes to succeed in university.

Our professor was Diana Dirksen. She was fabulous and very encouraging. I passed with a B+. I enrolled at Woodsworth College for September of the following year.

They were some of the best years of my life. I met some great fellow students and great professors.

After graduation…

After I graduated with my 4 year BA degree in English and History, I was undecided on what to do, when fate would have me meet up once again with Sister Tony Sheehan who was my Grade 5 teacher at Holy Name School on the Danforth. She was at the time Professor Emeretus at U of T at the Faculty of Education. She encouraged me to apply to the UofT Faculty of Education and I was accepted at the Faculty's Technological Studies Dept. in 1989-90.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Education in June 1990. I applied and was accepted for a teaching position at the Catholic School Board and started working in September. Twenty-three years later I am now retired and enjoying my retirement. When I look back it has been a fantastic run and I enjoyed every minute of my time at UofT. And it paid off with a wonderful career. I loved teaching.
