New Woodsworth Academic Building Receives Award of Merit
Kongats Architects recognized for their innovative concept by Canadian Architect Magazine
Woodsworth College is thrilled to announce that our new Academic Building has received an Award of Merit from Canadian Architect Magazine. The citation below explains the premise upon which the building was designed.
"A driving concept shaping The New Academic Building at Woodsworth College is the continuation and reimagining of the traditional cloister formation provided by the 1992 wing. Extending and ‘pulling’ the cloister vertically through the new building organizes the spaces within, creating a multi-level arcade with ‘courtyards’ for interacting, studying, and collaborating. Circulation is exposed, allowing Woodsworth students, faculty, and staff to see and be seen, as they are connected to the city and to each other."

Cancer researcher, entrepreneur and Justin Bieber’s DJ: A&S alum Amir Alam is a man of many talents
Amir Alam’s journey to the Faculty of Arts & Science started with a bet.
As a teenager, his love for creating music was ignited one night when he saw a DJ spinning records for a raucous crowd. He struck a deal with his mother: if he got accepted to every major Canadian university he applied to, she would buy him his first set of turntables. He won the wager after fast-tracking his last year of high school and receiving an offer of admission from U of T (along with other top-ranked schools) a few months later.
