February 1, 2023

The University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) continues U of T’s long-standing tradition of recognizing outstanding student leadership, volunteer service, and commitment to the university.

This tradition began with the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award that ran from 1994 – 2019 and was named by the University of Toronto Alumni Association (UTAA) in honour of Mr. Gordon Cressy, former Vice-President, Development and University Relations.

The University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) recognizes students in their final year who have at least one year of significant volunteer leadership and high-impact service. The award continues the spirit of the retired Cressy Award as the recipients of the UTSLA join the distinguished community of past Cressy Award recipients.

Woodsworth College is pleased to announce the students who have shown their leadership and volunteerism and have made a positive impact on the Woodsworth College and U of T communities:

  • Serah George
  • Erin Kim
  • Rebecca Louise Flore Proch
  • Eunice Alliah Castillejo Ramirez
  • Subesica Vasanthakumaran
  • Elizabeth Wrightman

Congratulations to the 2023 recipients!

New grad Youness Robert-Tahiri explores how comedy can help kids cope with trauma

June 19, 2025

Youness Robert-Tahiri has never taken the conventional path — and it’s exactly that journey that’s shaped him into the advocate he is today.

Graduating this month as a member of U of T’s Woodsworth College with a major in psychology, Robert-Tahiri is determined to support children who have experienced adversity, helping them build resilience and coping skills using a perhaps unexpected tool: improv comedy.
