Biography: Terri-Lynn Macartney is a dedicated regulatory professional with over 14 years of experience at the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), where she currently serves as Manager of the Quality Assurance Program. In this role, she leads initiatives that support continuous professional development and public protection through fair, effective, and transparent processes. Her career at CDHO has included progressive leadership roles in both the Quality Assurance and Registration departments, reflecting a strong foundation in program development, regulatory processes, and stakeholder engagement.
Terri-Lynn holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Ethics and Political Science from the University of Toronto, awarded with distinction. Her commitment to public service and community-building extends beyond her professional work through years of volunteer leadership, including with Girl Guides of Canada and as a third-party fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity GTA, where she co-founded and led a successful charity bonspiel for nearly a decade. She is especially interested in mentoring individuals who are curious about regulatory systems, program management, and how thoughtful policy can improve outcomes for both professionals and the public.
Why I Mentor: I enjoy helping others reflect, grow, and work through challenges, which is what I have loved most and been most proud of when managing a team. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and try to be both honest and encouraging.
Hobbies: Outside of work, I find a lot of joy in creative hobbies like embroidery and other fabric arts. These help me stay grounded and reflective - I believe creativity builds perspective and empathy. I also love giving handmade gifts!
