Double major in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Immunology

Current role: Postdoctoral Fellow

Employer: Boyce Thompson Institute

Industry: Life Sciences

Biography: I am a plant biologist who uses microscopy techniques to answer cellular and molecular biology questions. I completed my Bachelors at UofT in 2017, doing a double major in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Immunology. I graduated with my MSc in Botany from the University of British Columbia, then returned to UofT to complete my PhD in Cell & Systems Biology in 2024. I am currently a NSERC-funded postdoctoral fellow working at the Boyce Thompson Institute in New York. I am passionate about science communication and making science more accessible to the public. In my spare time, I love to go on long walks, bake delicious desserts, and read novels.

Why I mentor: I have gone to school and worked in six different countries. I mentor because I know how daunting it feels to try to find a job after a science degree.
