Julia De Nicola

Julia De Nicola

Honours Bachelor of Arts, 2024

Current role: Litigation Legal Assistant

Employer: Agueci and Calabretta LLP

Industries: Education and Educational Counselling, Legal

Biography: I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Philosophy, where I explored large questions about justice, freedom, and the human nature - ideas that continue to shape how I learn and lead. Along the way, I was named a Dean’s List Scholar and received several awards, like the University of Toronto Student Leadership Award.

During my undergrad, I was heavily involved in mentorship, community, and leadership - mentoring over 50 first-years, directing mentorship programs for 80+ students across various associations, leading Orientation twice for over 500 incoming students, and volunteering with charities. I also worked at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, gaining a front-row seat to politics and law in action, and I now work in commercial litigation while building my own consulting startup focused on academic and career success, alongside teaching at Varsity Tutors LLP.

Why I mentor: I bring a perspective that extends beyond politics, the legal profession, and education, one grounded in resilience, leadership, and lived experience, equipping me to mentor others not only toward academic success but toward flourishing into the best possible version of themselves.
