Current role: MD Candidate

Employer: SickKids, Toronto Rehab

Industry: Healthcare

Biography: I am a second-year medical student at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, with prior experience in clinical research at Toronto Rehabilitation and The Hospital for Sick Children.

I am the president and co-founder of the Alliance for Accessibility and Inclusivity in Medical Education (AAIME), a student group dedicated to supporting medical students with disabilities and accommodation needs on campus. In addition, I serve as a junior executive member of the Canadian Association for Latin American Medical Students (CALMS), a student-led organization that supports Latinx medical students across Canada. I am deeply committed to increasing the visibility and representation of Latinx individuals in medicine, while also advocating for greater inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the medical field.

Why I Mentor: I am passionate about addressing barriers in medical education for students from underrepresented backgrounds, including Latinx individuals and those with disabilities. Mentoring is my way of giving back to the community and connecting with individuals with similar backgrounds and interests to help them meet their goals!
