Sofiya Datsyuk
President

 

Sofiya Datsyuk has worked at an entrepreneurial boutique securities law firm for over six years in management and project support. She obtained her BA (Hons) from the University of Toronto in 2015 and is President of the Woodsworth College Alumni Association. Sofiya is a recipient of a 2021 Arbor Award from the University of Toronto. 

 

Dr. Huda Henry-Riyad
Vice-President

 

Dr. Huda Henry-Riyad is the Co-Founder & CEO of The Key Group International Inc., a strategic political and corporate consulting firm. Dr. Henry-Riyad credits Woodsworth College for the start of her career journey where she enrolled in 1997 as a special student. She went on to complete her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and started her entrepreneurship journey in 2005. Dr. Henry-Riyad has extensive executive experience in research, publishing, and strategic organization. She served on multiple boards in both Canada and the US for educational, community, and mental health causes. 

Maina Rambali
Treasurer

Maina Rambali is a finance and accounting professional for publicly traded mining companies. Most recently, Maina held positions as Treasurer and Controller at Harte Gold Corporation. Previously she held similar roles at Global Atomic Corporation and various mining corporations. Maina has extensive experience in treasury management, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Maina graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Finance and Economics specialist degree from Woodsworth College, University of Toronto. As a proud alumna, Maina is actively engaged as a mentor in the Hart House and Woodsworth Mentorship programs. She currently serves on the board of Woodsworth College Alumni Association as Treasurer since 2021. Maina also serves as Treasurer on the board of Youth Assisting Youth, a charitable organization, and a Toronto Standard Condominium Corporation.

Katelyn Leonard
Secretary

Katelyn has been a member of the Woodsworth College Alumni Association Board of Directors for four years and sits on the board’s Governance and Nomination Committee. She is also a board representative on the Woodsworth College Council. Katelyn is a lawyer practicing civil and commercial litigation for Canada’s leading litigation firm. Prior to attending law school, she worked for the provincial government on business and organizational strategy. While a student of Woodsworth College, Katelyn studied criminology and history. 

Erin Rud-Thompson
Past-President

Erin graduated from Woodsworth College in 2014 with Honours B.A. (Specialist in Philosophy).    She is currently the Vice President Of Finance And Operations at WD Numeric Corporate Services.  Erin has been on the Woodsworth College Alumni Association board since 2015. 

Natalie Hoffman
Director-at-large

Natalie graduated from Woodsworth College in 2017. After completing her MSc at the University of British Columbia, she returned to UofT to pursue a PhD in the Department of Cell & Systems Biology, focusing on plant biology. She is passionate about science outreach, including being an executive member for Science Rendezvous at UofT, which promotes elementary and high school students’ involvement in the sciences. In addition, she is a committee member on the Cell & Systems Biology Mental Wellness committee, which provides resources and workshops to support mental wellbeing.

May Xuan
Director-at-large

May Xuan is a tax professional at a public accounting firm. Her practice focuses on all aspects of income tax for the financial service industry, including advisory, compliance and tax audits. May graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2016 from Woodsworth College, University of Toronto. She then obtained a Master of Taxation degree from the University of Waterloo and a CPA designation.

Laura Scarlett Martin
Director-at-large

Laura Scarlett Martin is a neurodivergent, multi-award winning executive with an Honours BSc. in Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto. She is the C.O.O. of the #1 brokerage in Canada, Matrix Mortgage Global, and was named as a Top 100 Global Finance Influencer for her dynamic thought leadership (MPA, 2021 & 2022). Laura Scarlett has most recently started her own Venture Capital fund to invest in Fintech & AI founders and bring to fruition a new age for doing real estate finance. She is a frequent contributor to the Globe and Mail and other outlets, having been published over 70 times. Her professional network is expansive with over 30,000 Linkedin connections, and she speaks at conferences on topics such as fintech, real estate investment, entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing and professional growth. 

Annum Bokhari
Director-at-large

Annum graduated from Woodsworth College in 2012 and is looking forward to reconnecting with the community. She is a senior product manager in digital payments and has been working at Visa Canada for the last 5 years, although currently enjoying her second maternity leave. When Annum is not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and husband. She enjoys working out, cooking, travel, and reading books in her spare time. 

Colleen Leung

Colleen Leung graduated from Woodsworth College in 2005, studying Economics and Canadian Studies.  Colleen is an 20 year financial services industry professional with experience in corporate events, project management, segmentation and client experience. She also has a Certificate in Project Management from the School of Continuing Studies and her PMP designation. 

Nathalie Sehgal

Nathalie Sehgal graduated from Woodsworth College in 2013 with an Honours B.A. She was an active member of the Woodsworth College community from 2009 to 2013, including Promotions Manager of the Woodsworth College Student Association, Resident Director of Woodsworth College and co-founder of the Woodsworth Movie Club.  After graduation, she followed footsteps in her family’s business manufacturing specialized garments for the military in India & Canada. Currently, she is working in Public Relations specializing in lifestyle and corporate brands. During her downtime, she loves to try the latest restaurants in the city and travel.  Nathalie is honoured to be a part of the Board of Directors and is looking forward to growing the community and raising awareness.
