Meet Our Mentees!

The Alumni Student Mentorship Program has a diverse range of 3rd and 4th year students. Below are some profiles of our past participants:

Novera Khan is a 3rd year student majoring in Political Science and Sociology and minoring in Economics. She has been greatly involved in campus life since coming to the University of Toronto. Her past experience has included involvement in the Woodsworth College Students' Association as the coordinator for WOLF (Woodsworth Orientation for Life after Frosh), the Chair of the Board of Directors and one of the Off Campus Student Directors. She also serves as the Vice President of the Woodsworth Political Society. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she hopes to pursue a career in law, and this year for the mentorship program she was paired with a distinguished UofT law as well as Woodsworth College alumnus.

Filip Pejic is a 3rd year student majoring in Finance and Economics. He has had a wide variety of leadership roles on campus, with his most recent accomplishments including being one of Co-Chairs of the International Trading Competition run out of the BMO Finance and Research Lab at the Rotman School of Management. He also serves as the Director of Corporate Relations for the University of Toronto Sports and Business Association. In his spare time, he created a startup with his co-founder called Society Socks, which donates a pair of socks to someone in need for every pair that is purchased. Recently scoring an internship with Bell in the department of Mergers and Acquisions, Filip hopes to build upon that to continue working in the world of finance upon graduation. This year, he was paired with a hedge fund manager. 
 

Annie Chen is a 3rd year student double majoring in Criminology and Political Science. She herself is a mentor in the Woodsworth E-Mentorship Program, and joined the program in hopes of connecting with someone in the fields of civil service or law enforcement. She has previously served as a poll clerk and works as a financial representative for Primerica Financial Services. In her spare time, she volunteers for JusticeNet, an organization that helps refer clients in economic need to affordable lawyers. Annie was paired up with a Senior Policy Analyst within the Ontario Ministry of Education. 

Abbey Kachmar is a 3rd year student majoring in Employment Relations at Woodsworth College. Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue a Masters degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. On campus, she is the captain of the intramural soccer team and she also serves as the Internal Communications Director fo the Employment Relations Student Association. Abbey was paired up with a Job Evaluation Specialist within the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. 

Chantal Issa is a 4th year student double majoring in Political Science and History. She has been heavily involved on campus since coming to Woodsworth College, with her major leadership roles being the Vice-President Internal of the Woodsworth College Students' Association as well as the Fall Orientation Coordinator. She has also been the Events Coordinator and Alumni Relations Manager for the Woodsworth ONE Program. She herself has been an E-Menter of the Woodsworth E-Mentorship Program. Upon graduation she hopes to pursue a career in law. This year, she was paired with a lawyer working in Regulatory Interpretations with TD Securities.
